I discovered a time-saving way to refresh the "view new posts" page. If you've opened all the new stuff in new windows and got through reading all the windows, and are back to the list of new posts, you can hit BACKSPACE (not F5 or the "refresh" button) and instantly get an updated version. :)
Maybe everybody already knew this, but I just happened across it by accident, and find it helpful.
