Touring - A tour containing Yellowstone

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I have never been to Yellowstone NP. I would like to find a route that contains Yellowstone (either start, end, or middle) and goes through as much pretty country as possible. Since I won't be starting in my home town (San Francisco), I would also like to find a starting and ending point that accomodates major airlines.
I am not interested in a cross country ride and only have a road touring bike so need a fully paved route. I would prefer a length of 1000 maximum but will go further if the route benefits from that.
I'd be interested in any and all suggestions.
Thanks,
Ray

Fly into Billings MT (major airport) and you have about 120 mile ride to the north entrance of the park (Mammoth Hot Springs (http://www-personal.engin.umich.edu/~yeq/images/YellowStone%201/Mammoth%20Hot%20Springs%201.jpg)-- a great place to start a tour, because your at the top of a big loop that if you take east you can pass Tower Falls (http://www.gowaterfalling.com/waterfalls/tower.shtml) then down to Canyon Village, then follow the Yellowstone River down to Fishing Bridge/Lake Village:
Then you can take a short detour to the east and stay at Sylvan Lake (http://www.wyomingtalesandtrails.com/sylvanlk27.jpg) or go west on to West Thumb and on then start looping back north to Old Faithful and many other hot springs and mud pots.
Sounds like a blast (I worked there, back in 1985)
