it has a little plastic mounting bracket that mounts to the frame near the front chain sprocket, then a screw attatchs it to the frame near the rear hub

your an idiot, he said sprocket not chain.

You have to have the right type of sprocket, then it will just bolt into the holes provided.

A friend of mine has the Mosh Spocket gaurd, its nice, but its not working to well with his Shadow chain...

Does it go around the chain, or does it not protect the teeth?

Yeah, look it up...

This is the Macneil one, the teeth of the sprocket are behind, and so your chain doesnt really get grinded...

It doesn't really go around the chain, but next to it and farther down.

Yeah, this is right, but its hard to picture...

Dont you wish that tl62997 could post useful photos, like now, of the Macneil or another sprocket gaurd thing, so that people could see.

[if your reading this tl62997, then you know your mission, find a photo of a sprocket gaurd and post it, then you will have posted you first actuall photo with a point!!]

All the pictures only show the front view

I want to know if it goes around the chain kind of like a hook.

No, it does not.

Chris Gabriel
06-05-06, 03:39 PM
So its just on the outside of the chain/sprocket and doesnt protect the bottom of the chain/sprocket?

CMcMahon

It drops down low enough so that if you hit it, it will prevent your chain from being hit. Think about it: if it hung over the chain, it would hit the chain as it revolved.

yeh it does because it stickes out further than the chain so you land on the guard and not the chain

I bought the Animal V2 Bash Guard and I put it on my bike. the thing is 1/4 inch thick and hangs over the chain on the side.

When you said "hangover", I thought that you meant like a hook, not "extending past".
