Hi all.

I know that there has been a ton of discussion - Threads - on pedal technique and I have searched and read most of them, however I still have a question on this pedal stroke technique and the feel of actually doing the full 360 stroke....

OK - I have really concentrated on the push down and have been doing this automatically since starting my bicycle career about 12 weeks ago.

I have been told that I should now concentrate on pulling up and pushing through. In doing this I was told to forget about the push down as this will be automatic - it is part of my conditioning/auto response and will happen automatically.

I have been really working on the full pedal stroke, but I have been feeling that I am not pushing down as hard as I was prior to starting and really focusing on this full circle technique.

My question is - sorry to to take so long to get to it...

Has anyone noticed that when they are riding through the full stroke that it appears that they are experiencing less downward push?

Is this just a feeling caused by my concentrating on the pull up and push through? Leading to a feeling of less downward push. Am I still pushing down with the same force but not aware of it due to the pull up etc??.

In fact, is the pull up making the downward part of the stroke easier and therefore giving me a feeling of ease?

Any thoughts?

Mmmmmmm....

Thanks

Bernie
