Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - Frickinpunkasssonova..... BB trouble

I was trying to get my campy cartridge cup out and the damned thing appears to be welded in with the force of dragons. Any ideas on how I can get this damned thing out without continuing to destroy my body and what little is left of my pride? Got one cup off but the other is just being a pain. And before anyone gets all snide, I am positive I am turning it the right way considering that the cup has a neat little picture on it that says something to the effect of Lock->.

I was gonna reccomend using the pushy-item, but then I realized that you were talking sealed BBs. So this post is 100% USELESS. God I really oughta get going on that essay...

put the frame on the ground, but the handle of the wrench about 3 inches off of the ground, have someone hold the bike, and stand on the tool. should do the trick. if you're turning it the wrong way you might strip your threads soo.

Chuck your bottom bracket tool vertically into a sturdy bench vise. Get a helper to help you thread the bottom bracket onto the tool. Figure out which way you need to go and twist the whole bike frame. It'll come loose.

Which side did you get out, and do you have fluted or splined cups?

Both solid ideas, now to make friends... I have the 6 notch ones (fluted) and I got the left one out.

for the fluted models the vice trick won't work very well.
you should make some sort of attachment to hold the removal tool in place. what works well is similar to a homemade headset press. Use a lenght of all thread or threaded rod, two nuts, and several big washers to hold the removal tool against the BB cup.
With the threaded rod running through the frame, the order from left to right should be :

nut, Washer(s), BB shell, Stuck cup, removal tool,washers, nut

That way you can use the standing trick or add leverage to the tool with a cheater bar without fear of slipping the tool in the splines of your cup.

Interesting. Think I can use the crank screw to hold the washer on (to hold the tool)?

awww hell. the spindle is still in there? Yea, you should be able to, but you're gonna have to find the right combo of spacers and such to keep the tool on.
Also, heat is your friend.

One time I had similar trouble and I had to bolt the tool to a 10' piece of shelving to get more leverage. It worked, and the 10' tool was awesome.
