It was a Pepsi commercial I think, maybe you remember the one, the kid in the ad was drinking his soft drink with such vigor that he created a vacumn that sucked him into the empty bottle when all the pop was gone.

That's how Saturday's ride felt. Rather than having to push through wind resistance, it seemed as each time my diaphragm collapsed with my exhaled breath, my backside was drawn foward into the area of nothingness left by my inhalation.

The sensation was unique, like no prior ride I can recall, riding into the wind seemed effortless...I'm telling the truth, it was a morning ride and I didn't party at all Friday night ;)

Hey Threadend! I am a former Michigander myself (up until last August). The wind there can be a real mother sometimes.

I had an interesting ride yesterday. Massive wind starting rolling across the plains (Greeley, CO) and was driving me down the road at over 30 MPH-BARELY PEDALING! Then I turned so it was cornering from my front. I was in the drops grinding out 9 MPH.

I never did the Iceman, by the way, or we could compare stories...
but I did live in Kalamazoo for nine years.
