I was looking at the 27" tire stock on Sheldon brown's site, and I saw that he had several 27" tires on sale that were 27x 7/8 inch. Were there ever rims that were 27 x 7/8 inch? The rims that I have on my Bianchi are clearly marked 27 x 1/4. What will happen if I use narrower? nothing? or will I run the risk of damaging my rim? It seems that the 27x1/4 that I have on there dont stick out a whole lot from the side of the rim, only a couple of mm.

whats the deal with these tires? ok...bad jerry seinfeld impression...:)

Call them as it may be a mis print.

There are a few quality 27" tires out there .I know the IRC line makes some very high quality 27" tires.
