Im having trouble finding a magnesium seat post. Does anybody know where I can get one at? I just want one because it will make my bike lighter, and they are a lot stronger. Or does anybody else recommend a seat post made out of something else?
Just get an aluminum post... the weight you save would be maybe an ounce with a mag post, which i don't think they even make. just get a shadow lean and cut it.

Magnesium is not stronger than aluminum.
Magnesium is not stronger than aluminum.
But it burns nicely.

Puking up your last meal would save more weight than getting a magnesium seatpost, give it a shot.
That being said, I did cut my seatpost, but only because it was so long it was impossible to slam the seat. And the cut piece weighs almost nothing, even though it's 2/3rds the length of the post. But it was just sitting there taking up the entire seat tube, why not take part of it off.

Magnesium is not stronger, its ligher, and has less impact strenght than aluminium, its only really used for pedals, becase normally the body of the pedal isnt under much stress, all the weight and stress is put on the axle that the pedal is on...
Most seatposts are aluminium. Shadow made a Ti post, but with the rising prices of Ti they discontinued it...
If you want a light seatpost, get a Fit, Odyssey or Macniel(only if you want a new seat too)
