Opera can be frustrating. I'm always constnatly hitting key combos and having Opera disappear or do other weird things. One of the few appliations where stuff like that applications. In fact the only application I can think of where that happens.

I'm an old, feeble minded goat herder who doesn't like change, except form vending machines. And now someone I've never met is telling me to change the way I access the Information Superhighway? Next you will be telling me to get ride of my 2400 baud modem, or upgrade to that fancy gooey thing called winders or such.

I've got enough to do with getting my modem init string just right, and tweaking my config.sys and autoexec.bat. Don't be throwing me curved snowballs from Norway.

Heh I'd never wish Opera on anybody.

Opera was a great browser a few years ago. Even the most recent versions don't render non-standard pages very well. For a while (v 6-7) you could not use hotmail and most dhtml pages because they did not comply strictly with the html standard. It has always been very fast.

I just don't like the idea of having to pay $40 or whatever for a web browser. It's a good product, and I was glad to pay for it when it was the best option, but if I have to use another browser anyway when it does not work, I might as well use a well-supported, Open browser. There's nothing significant that Opera does that Firefox can't do.

You're seriously behind since 6-7. Opera is the only browser that renders acid2 test page correctly. In addition, it has also become free. You are falsely implying that open source software is inherently > closed source which is obviously false

There's nothing significant that Opera does that Firefox can't do.

Besides Opera being much faster than firefox and not having to instal 3982938423 extensions to have a functional browser? Yep.

It's for this exact reason why browsers aren't standards compliant, because browsers have to handle garbage websites like that. There are hardly any sites which don't render properly in opera anymore.
