Foo - do you guys ever think of a bf reunion?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

no, seriously... I just joined a few months ago but have you ever brought up the idea?
it would be neat to set up a date and place and get a lot of people from foo to meet..
did I drink too much coffee this morning or does that sound good to anyone else?

Well, I've already met a few of the BFers in my area. One of my regular ride parnters is a member here in fact. I've also met and ridden with BeeTL.

Hope to meet Catatonic one of these days as he's close.

Also a new guy who recently joined whose PM'd me a few times and will likely ride with me as soon as he gets his bike. I'd tell you his name, but I don't know how....it's all chinese letters or something.

Mirona and gravityslip (where's he been?) made the drive from your neck of the woods last year to meet a bunch of BFers at the Lancaster PA Covered Bridges Metric. I drove up from Richmond, KirkeISWaiting came in from NJ, Bibi, Grasschopper, Cydewaze and Jess from MD, and abuncha folks from the PA area, we ended up with what, 30? BFers total? --GREAT times were had by all. Here's are the two threads:

In other words, YES! I'll be there.

I think it would be cool. I'd likely be up for it. I've met and ridden with a few BF people. They were all nice. But what if we all got together and the conversation went somethintg like this:

"This one time in band camp....":p

Seriously though. I think some of us would be friends, or at least cycling buddies, if we didn't live across the country or around the world from each other. Some of you live just a couple of hours or less from me though.:)

My vacation dates this year are July 15-23 and August 12-20 - if someone comes up with the date and place, I'll do what I can to be there.

I have a suggestion that might fit everyone's location/schedules - pick a series of rides from across the country and then everyone would have multiple opportunities to meet in multiple locations, whichever works best for their situation? Just thinnin out loud here.

I think that's actually a kinda cool idea, especially if it's somewhere on the west side

We're leaving to go to the Grand Canyon on Father's Day (3 week road trip with most of the family). Don't think I can squeeze in a separate West Coast trip in the week before - especially since I'm on-call for work. :(

I expect to bring at least one of my road bikes and my mtb with me though. Pagosa Springs, Moab, Flagstaff, Branson, MO, on the way back home. Nothing sounds like it's right in the back yard of any of the foo regulars (or irregulars, or fellow invisiblistas), but who knows - maybe I can meet somebody along the way.

Yep, I'm planning on coming out for it (though I need to start working the logistics. Step one is to determine whether I'm flying or driving).

--besides, I kinda have to come back for it, Cydewaze and Grasschopper need to have their annual "Drop Dex" ride ;)
