Has anybody toured with any of the shimano nexus rear hubs?
I was wondering if one would work very well with it's somewhat limited gear range.
Also what kind of bike are using it on. The bike I have my on is an alum. cruiser/road bike.
thanks for any info

I did a 6 day Michigander trip on my KHS Fleetwood with a Nexus Internal hub. Combination of rail trail, backroads, flats, hills etc.
Had a great time, struggeled on a few hills but still made it. I have no problem riding it anywhere.

One guy I know has them on his lightweight custom tourer, another rider uses them on a road/trail MTB, and plenty of people use them for daily commuting. People who tour with folding bikes commonly fit hub gears. Generally, the Sachs 7 speed is regarded as more robust (as well as having a wider range). Its not something for a conventional touring bike, which may have to haul camping gear over a mountain, but there is plenty of scope to use them for flatland or lightweight touirng.
