I'm not the perfect person when it comes to spelling. But some things just irk me.

Like the correction fluid, "Wite Out". How annoying is that? On a bottle of CORRECTION FLUID, for gosh sakes! I went through the entire case of it at the police station and fixed it. I whited out the Wite Out and spelled it correctly with a sharpie.

Everyone who saw the bottles laughed. They knew it was me. But I denied it.

I can't believe you made me laugh at 5:26 in the morning, but you did. Thank you. :D

The sharpie correction is priceless!

Chamois buttr. It's just like at a rave....needs f--kin "e".

Really though, a name that sounds that wrong is not improved by ommiting a letter to sound cute.

Alum-a-Lub......again with the frickin "e"....just do it....do it f-----er....give me the pen, i'll f---in do it for you!!!! (/obscure ICP reference)

What about colour, honour, cheque...man everyone just converts them so they are spelled phoeneticly. Sheesh I am actually surprised honour isn't spelled more often like onher or onur...would make more sense :D

It's all about the trademark.

"White Out" can not be a registered trademark.

"Wite Out" is.

As are may other corporate mispellings.

Just the same, we appreciate your diligence towards correct spelling!

my friends make a joke about it, "correction fluid". But see schools teach everyone the spelling of words that have been used for a while. The spelling that is taught is the spelling that everyone use's, but if you really think about it, how do we know that what we spell today is actually correct? See our minds have been like programmed over the years with information like this that this word is spelled like this but we never know if it actually is spelled like this. No one has the information to back it up. But im with you, manufactors of products should spell words correctly according what most of the population of America are taught. Meaning they should print the words spelled the way Americans were taught to spell it. Because if they dont they have people like you come up and stuff:lol:. I dont mean this in an offencesive way. See i can even spell

It seems lately that being dumb is the in thing with bad spelling and shortened words.

So true Kat....

I was playing EVE Online last night, and had to put quite a few kiddiots on my block list for being so stupid it made my eyes and head hurt.

Every other sentence was "LOL" "ROFLLOL" "LOLOLOLLLLOLOLOLOLOL" "WTFPWNT!" "OMGWTFBBQ!"

....really it gets old....if I lived near that person, I would have gathered 12 skunks in heat, busted out this moron's window, and threw the skunks in the house.

My 'favourite' is loose when they mean lose.

As in, "If you're not careful, you're going to loose your wallet..."

I think spoken errors can be just as annoying as spelling errors though:

The accountant at work has a terrible use of 'loss'. Instead of saying "By not paying us, you are going to lose money in the long run", she says "By not paying us, you are going to loss money in the long run".

And she's the accountant?!?!?!?! She must have to use this phrase (or use of the word) many times a day, exactly how unprofessional is that?!?!?!

Oh man, I'm on a rant now... I'd better go lie down.

John

I hate misuse of apostrophes. I had a 'styrene cup the other day, and the bottom of it was emblazoned with the legend "No CFC's Ozone Friendly".
Well no $hit Sherlock! No CFC is Ozone friendly!
I'm beginning to see stupid-arse stuff like that all the time now. And it makes me want to hit the originator with sticks until they get it right.

Hahah. You know what people just have no ****ing clue. I do it all the time, not because I don't know how to use apostrophes. It's just the way our brain works. I'll often times catch myself putting apostrophees where i know they don't belong. I don't know why. I often times correct myself but other times it's not worth the trouble. If for no other reason then to know that some where somebody is growing grey hairs over my typo :)
