Thanks! I've been offline relaxing and I got the chance to go to the CSC Invitational yesterday too... Colavita just burned up those races with the wins, and it was mostly older people who won the races. Lots of fun... and just how I like it lately- quiet.

I'm old.

Happy Birthday...although folks who ride bikes every day never get older, they just mark the anniversary of how many years they have been riding. And, of course, we are only as old as we feel (as we feel before riding fifty miles, not as old as we feel afterwards).

Speaking of "afterwards", if I was in Washington D.C., and it were my birthday, I might treat myself to an evening at "Afterwords". When I used to spend time in D.C., several decades ago, I would go to "Afterwords" to enjoy looking at the new books, and drinking a nice glass of wine, and being around the sorts of people who enjoy both books and wine. If they are still around, check 'em out.

Hmmmmm... never heard of it. Is it some kind of singles spot or something? Or a big comfy place with oversized stuffed chairs and fireplaces?

The full name of the place is "Kramer's Books and Afterwords Cafe" at 1517 Connecticut, across from the Dupont Circle Metro. Books, coffee, food. A sidewalk cafe where you can sit next to your bike while having your morning coffee. Live music on Friday and Saturday night.

It attracts crowds of people who love books, good food, wine, and coffee, and it also brings in people who are looking for people who love books, good food, wine and coffee. And, 18 kinds of draft beer...proof that this is a VERY serious sort of bookstore.

I don't think I've ever been to a bookstore anywhere that is as enjoyable. As part of your birthday celebration, treat yourself to a night at KBAAC. You will enjoy it immensely.

News Cafe in Miami (Ocean Drive and 8th Ave.)....Well, the old News Cafe, at least. 24 hrs.,books, tea, coffee, and liquors from around the world. Plus food, and a patio overlooking the ocean.

That's where you should go for your b-day, Koffee. Get some sun, work on your tan, ride bikes!:D

Maybe even get a tattoo at "Miami Ink".

That sounds wonderful! I may hook up with friends and practice my Italian sometime when we have our coffee shop. :) That sounds like a really cool place/hangout!

I'm plenty tan already. ;) But perhaps one day I'll get over to Miami in the wintertime. :)
