Recumbent - I am new here, just wanted to say hi!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Hello everyone.. I am new to this group. My name is Bill, I am 37 and I live in Eugene, OR. I currently ride a Cannondale Easy Rider, it is a bit slowish but intensely comfortable, so I am happy with it. I started riding recumbents about 10 years ago because of back problems. I sold my last upright bike about 6 years ago. I ride alot less than I used to but I still chug along, mostly riding local bike paths.

I am also trying to sell a recumbent in the for sale forum. I know this is a general recumbent forum and the not the for sale forum but I just want to mention it here, sorry if I offend... The thread is HERE (http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=20106)

thanks

Bill

Wilbur,

Welcome. You sound a little like me. I ride by myself about 99% of the time. To slow for the big dogs and do not want to stay on the porch.

I live in SE Ohio and have to many bikes and a RANS Rocket. I rode the RANS this week and got a flat about a mile out in 25 F temperatures. That really sucks. Going to try some Kenda Quests and see if those hold up any better.

Good luck on selling your other bike.

Wilbur Howdy! Sound like me only younger! Actually I ride for exercise, but not fast. I ride a Lightfoot Cycles Explorer LWB. Glad to have you here.

Thanks fofa! I used to ride mountain bikes quite a bit, but my back simply won't tolerate upright bikes anymore. I might be getting back surgery, I am going to see a neurosugeon next month so MTBing might be in the future again for me.

Hello and Welcome Wilbur....Like yourself, I swithched over to a "bent because a touch of arthritis in my neck, I think from years of riding an upright. I still ride my conventional to and from work, with a bit of discomfort. I had to remove my visor so that I would'nt have to crane my neck so much to see the road. What a pleasure it is to ride in seated comfort now and check out all the scenery I was missing before ..Again, Welcome...Rick...

Good Evening Wilbur!!
Rick from KY here and I understand the part about being comfortable! Those seats sure are nice aren't they?
Although I still ride "uptights" er uprights, my bent is still the one I like when I get in the mood to go nowhere fast!

Get "laid back" and enjoy life as it goes by or you will pass it by and never know it!!!!
