Just joined the forum today. About three years ago I rented a bike at Yosemite and immediately started kicking myself for not riding a bike much earlier. I had even been teaching Spinning for four years prior to that. I'm almost 52 now and I regularly put 10-30 miles a day on my year and a half old Specialized Sirrus. It's great to be here and I hope to cram a lot of knowledge in to make up for lost time! :)

I'm thinking of getting a Sirrus as well. Which model do you have? I'm pretty new here too and it's been a great source of info and alot of fun reading. Right now I'm just wondering if the standard Sirrus is ok or if I'll kick myself if I don't get the sport or comp for instance. By the way I'm jealous you're up in the foothills! I'm near them but still in the valley, not far from marysville; having moved here from the bay area it sure is hot here in the summer, not that i already wasn't aware of that but ouch!

I have the base model. Even now, I am still learning...but I absolutely love this bike! It was only 500.00 when I bought it, and I am sure the comp and sport are really nice. At some point, I plan to give this bike to someone special and go for the comp. If I had the cash, I would go all the way to the LTD. I dream of carbon!
