Commuting - Raincovers for trunk bags

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I've got a Topeak trunk bag with fold-out side panniers I've had for about a year now. For rain during commute I've just been wrapping a poncho around the bag and hoping it doesn't come off, but I see Topeak makes raincovers for their bags. I haven't been able to find a website that sells them (or any rain covers for trunk bags at all) so I thought maybe someone on the forums would know something about it. Does anyone know where I can find a waterproof bag with a tight elastic opening (damn it!)?
I thought the raincover was supposed to come with the bag at the time of purchase?

I contacted both the Canadian (Lambert) and American (Topeak) distributors and neither of them have the raincover available for the Trunk bag (mine is the DXP). The American distributor said that they may end up getting them in June (now) or July from Taiwan. Other than waiting, they have them here:
Allterraingcyclys (http://www.allterraincycles.co.uk/p.php?make=topeak#bagsandracksbagsrear)
Wiggle (http://www.wiggle.co.uk/Default.aspx?Main=ProductDetail.aspx&W=0&Manufacturer=Topeak&UberCatName=&Cat=cycle&CategoryName=&ProdID=5360021664&UberCat=0)
I may end up ordering from one of these sites, I will contact Topeak again before I go ahead and take the hit on buying from England.
Good luck with the search though!

use double plastic bags for your stuff. use any bag (plastics from grocery. convenience, or specialty stores) and you'll have dry goods. double bag!

I got some Tupperware type containers that just fit inside my pannier for rides in heavy rain.

I have been using white garbage bag containers and ziplock bags. My only issue is that I bring my bike inside and park behind my desk, when wet, the bag drips and makes a bit of a mess. With a raincover, I can easily avoid this problem (and not have to bag everything, everyday!)
The cover is really nice too! Check it out:
