Hey I just started commuting on my bike to work. Right now I get a ride from my parents to greenlake then ride 10 miles from greenlake to my work. I work just south of downtown. In a warehouse under the west Seattle bridge. My goal is by the end of the summer to be able to ride from Lynnwood all the way to my work. I’m having some trouble figuring out a route though... Iv heard a little about the Burke Gilman trail but I cant seem to find a decent map on the Internet. I'm not real good at navigating… ha-ha  Any information would be really helpful.

Tyler, I googled SEATTLE BURKE GILMAN TRAIL and got a nice site with 4 detailed maps of the trail. I do not know about the south end for you but the north end looks good. I have been riding in heavy traffic for a long time and main roads do not bother me too much. So bear that in mind when you try this route: Lynnwood to 44th Ave eastbound to Cedar Way southbound becomes 37the Ave NE becomes 40th Pl NE becomes Ballinger way NE which ends close to an access point for the B-G Trail. Luck.

I use to commute from Mill Creek down to Providence in Seattle. It may help you depending on what part of Lynnwood your going to be in. I would take the Bothel-Everett Hwy down into Bothel, pretty easy ride but there was a section just north of Bothel that the bike lane would disappear during some Blind S curves around a hill side (Funny how those things disappear where you need them most.) In Bothel I would jump on the Sammish River Trail and head east. This trail turns into the Burk Gilman some where around Kenmore. Keep on trucking until you get to Fremont. Now, for me, I would look into the Cascade Bicycle club commuter forum for help from there. Normally I would say head across the Fremont Bridge and down Dexter but with the 1/2 the lanes closed on the bridge for the next 10 months I don't know how hard it's going to be. But if you are commuting from Green lake now, you might have a path already. You can also find a map for Bicycling in King County at http://www.metrokc.gov/kcdot/roads/bike/index.cfm
Good Luck!
