BMX - half pipe

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Me and a couple friends are going to build a half pipe, and we have someone that knows a little bit about building them, but we need more specific information. I was just wondering if anybody knows of a website that has free information on building one, because I cant seem to find a site that has information that doesnt cost money.

That is really nice. How much did it cost/how long to build?
Man, I apologize if I'm off base, but I gotta call BS. You built that ramp? A full masonite covered metal superstructure halfpipe built by a 26yo in Trinidad in his backyard? Maybe you did build it and you just happen to be a skilled welder, but you gotta admit it's pretty far-fetched.
how old do you have to be to be able to weld? building ramps is easy. rampplans.org

I dont think there is an age...
I have spot welded and use an aceltylene(spelling?) tourch before in shop class, but never made anything nice...
I built several ramps when I was a lot younger than 26, but the ramp pictured looks manufactured. Add to that, that looks like probably $3-5000+ in materials and you wonder why/if/how he built it. I'm not saying it is impossible, I'm just saying it's unlikely. Tell you what, ride, take a pic of you standing on that ramp, pointing at the camera and I'll eat my words.

When I convert the TT dollars it cost $5000 USD in material and $2000 USD in tools with our own labour. My brother and I built it with some helping hands from other guys. 9 months from idea to finish. Its a steel frame with marine ply wood surface. Its possible for anyone to build any kind of ramp, you just need the knowledge, theory and practical.
