Ha, nice. Unfortunately, they'll probably charge him for the cleanup...

Yeah. You can get arrested for doing that since the fire department must take risks turning it off. I had the same thing happen to me once and it cost $50.00 dollars per day plus towing to get the car out of the police pound. For two day, I ended up paying close to $200.00 dollars for parking incorrectly on the street. What a ripoff! It's just incredible how much the motorist is bled dry of his cash.

I've heard of folks in the UK who actually sit there, and wait for people to get out of their cars, which of course are illegilly parked, then call them in or something...? Maybe they get paid for catching them? I'm not quite sure, a co-worker who's from london told me it's insane over there.
sounds like an 84 chevette I had, it died on the freeway(had 138,000 miles on it), I had 2 other cars and it wasnt worth anything, anway, I left it on the side of the freeway w/o its license plates......it got towed 2 days later, local BMV sent me a letter, I sent them the title signed over to them....they never wrote back :)
