I found a deal on eBay for Ritchet 32 hole hubset I'd like to lace for a rainday/training wheelset.
The hubs have slotted holes for Aero spokes... do I HAVE to use aero spokes???

No you don't need to. Aero spokes have the same ends anyway, and will work the same way as standard spokes. Some might argue that the holes will be weaker and a spoke could pull through more easily, but I've only seen such a thing happen in big crashes, in which case the wheel is probably toast anyway. Enjoy your new wheel.
