I recently bought a DA headset that was missing the fork crown race. It's an older model that uses ball bearings, not cartridges.

Can I use a random (i.e. non DA) fork crown race with no ill effect, or do I have to track down a matching race? Will an Ultegra or 105 race work well with this headset?

as well, please pm me if you happen to have an extra DA crown race to trade.

E-mail Bike Tools Etc. to see if the crown race is interchangable. They may even have an official replacement.

You would like to think that any loose ball race would work. I have an old Stronglight needle bearing headset that take a very specific race. I have been looking on ebay for several years and no luck. I believe that you will find one easily. Good luck.
