Well, according to the RBR newsletter, our "good" friend Gibo decided that the whole bribery story was just made up because he was angry with Basso. He cracked under questioning, saying that it as just the "dynamics of racing", also he may now face a fine or suspension, putting his Tour jeopardy. Also mentioned in blurb is that apparently the whole extraterrestrial affair is a euphemism for a drug user. Serves the weasel right
