I saw it on ebay, decided it may be worth a shot, not sure how easy it will be to see out of but i'll give it a shot.

a couple of my buds have it and like it. I want the one that sits right behind the headset on the top tube but have not found where it is sold.

It's made by Aztec/Delta, here's a link:

I have the Sprintech bar ends that the OP was asking about, and are pretty happy with them. Not as large a viewing area as a hood mounted mirror, but they're stable and don't change position after you adjust them....
B'Dog
Is that a fixie? I see no shifters. Has anyone tried a lipstick cam under the saddle connected to a tiny screen on the headset? Some extremely aero HPVs use them to see forward.
it looks like a fixie, thats just the picture i took off ebay, its not actually my bike
fixies rarely have shifter cable coming out of a Shimano STI brake-shift lever. If they did, they would be called 'shifties'.....

I haven't tried the bar end one yet, but I do have the one you are talking about. I got it local at A-1. Bikeparts.com carries it but shows currently out of stock.
I still have to play with it, I've only ridden with it once. I ride an Allez (compact obviously) and use a small seat bag and have a blinkie. I found initially that the line of sight was pretty limited but I moved the blinkie down last night in an effort to be able to get a more level view.
