Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - my plans for today

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
after i send out the mailorder (isotopesope you're record is on it's way!) i'm gonna ride from carroll gardens up to inwood (200th st in manhattan, my old hood) then down to central park and ride laps for a while, and just kill time in the area until 5:30 when michele gets off work at MoMA (lemme know if ya need free tickets). then go eat dinner and head to the Woodser (a friends loft in williamsburg) to see Cuddle Machines (http://www.myspace.com/cuddlemachines) and Tiny Hawks (http://www.myspace.com/tinyhawks). it's gonna be an awesome day!
drop a PM if ya wanna do some laps or ride with me. or give me a call at 646 to tha 456 and a mutha ****in 8661.

evan,
thanks man. i downloaded some REDS stuff from your site awhile back, and am excited to hear more. no worries what-so-ever about the delay.

also, good news. new bullets*in 7" on the way! and you'll love Baader Brains, although their 12" is has a good bit of work left to do on the recording (lotsa samples and mixin and stuff).

i was really into okara burgers for a while, but i've been really digging sunshine burgers as of late
yeah, sunshine's are good too! they can be a little dry though. i still love em. they are definitely bigger than okara
hey,
are you the guy on the IRO, glasses, black helmet, and i think a reload backpack who i always see riding up union st below hicks st?
todays the perfect day for a ride like that.
and who do you know at woodser? roy?
i'd join you but, yes, work...and im waiting on a new BB.
have a good one.
-c.r.
nah, not me on the IRO. i have a benotto and a reminton and a green reload. i know all the woodser kids, except for pete.
oh!
i saw you on the G train last night.
benotto, red bar wrap, green reload..
nice bike.
i was wearing yellow rain jacket, black reload..
i work down at the end of union st @ van brunt. see the same people riding everyday.
next time i'll say hi.
-c.r.
haha yeah, the downfall of meeting up with michele after work: having to take the train home with her. especially when the G is running like last night. definitely say hey next time. where do you work?
Riding down to SoHo for a dance rehearsal, over to DUMBO for a chocolate tasting outing, over to the upper west side for a blues party. Looks like I picked a good day!
Yesterday I went with some friends, rode down the East side to South Street for drinks (nothing like some Pina Coladas on the pier!), leisurely ride through Battery Park City along the water. My friend who was riding my single speed was dying - though I offered to switch with him a few times. Capped off with pizza and South Park.
a chocolate tasting? nice. sounds like ya got a good time planned!
up to the bronx to ride the rumble route.

If my memory seves, you need new look cleats before you need new ATAC cleats.
Yes, the nagging persists, even half a continent away...

Had a blast - though taking the single speed over the Manhattan Bridge for my very first bike bridge crossing was an adventure (including the double circle I had to make by following the signs to the bike route - learned my lesson on that one!). Looks like the tire is about to pop off the rim though - think all those broken spokes are catching up with me! The wheel barely free spins at this point - no coasting at all and it pretty much stayed at one speed on the downhill part.
48 spoke rim is in the mail and should be here this week (along with a pump - yay!). Can't wait to upgrade these rims! I'm probably going to be flying after getting used to pushing these so hard.
Beautiful day for a ride - felt really good to be out there.

I made that mistake my first week in NYC. Those signs are bull****.
