I know that I have to lose some body fat, so my measurements will be a bit false, but am interested to know how other riders shape up in the leg department. My BSc dissertation studied the ratio between quadriceps and hamstrings muscle groups, regarding mass and power. But lately I have been thinking about the action of the calf and thigh during the angular motion of cycling. My calf is 17" around the widest point, and my thigh 26". Would be interesting to see how people compare.

As soon as I get more data, I will post the results. Not exactly scientific, since I haven't asked for gender, age, height, body fat% or training frequency, but nonetheless would be good to get a profile of the average mountain biker's leg.

Just measure around the widest part of the thigh and the calf. Nothing to worry about if you have skinny legs.
