Just a pair of photographs of my display-case derailers. Enjoy.

P.S. to Luker: Yes, that's the '79 N.R. that you think it is - the parts arrived this afternoon. Thanks! Have yet to decide whether to use the NR on the Paramount or not, or hold out for a GS.

Take care,

-Kurt

Nice collection. First time I'd seen a Zeus 2000 rear derailleur. My Gazelle arrived to me with a Zeus headset and wondered what some of the rest of the makers parts looked like.

The Zeus 2000 components are quite similar to Campy, but have their own unique appearance and style, in my opinion. Their extreme use of drillium gives them a very nice look.

You might want to see CR's section on Zeus: http://www.classicrendezvous.com/Spain/zeus.htm

Super Record FD: Motobecane Grand Jubilee
C-Record RD: Not in service, derailer stop broken
Nuovo Record RD: Send me a nice frame to mount it on ;)

When I was single and childless, I wouldn't have been caught dead looking at pictures of derailleurs on a Friday night. Now I'm sitting here thinking "Man that Zeus is pretty cool"....

Yep, I was quite impressed with it the first time I saw it. I love the drillium.

LBS priced it right too - $20!

Five Derailers On Display - new additions: Campagnolo Victory RD (Thanks Lynn!) and '82 Super Record hybrid RD.

Picked the Super Record RD at the local shop for $12. Not a bad price, I thought. It seems to be a first-gen model, but the odd part is that the front parallelogram cage is marked Nuovo Record. Could anyone shed some insight into this? Derailer is marked Pat-82.

Take care,

-Kurt

I'm just going to throw this out their but super record hybrid derailluer parts are available for purchase check ebay you can buy all kind of stuff. I assume it was the same back in the day. So maybe the guy bought some Super record parts or found a wrecked super record and salvaged parts which he put onto his nuovo record. The guy was obviously into how his bike looked drillium and possibly wieghed so the upgrade seems possible. I'm probably wrong though.

I see, so the plate is interchangable?

Where can you get the small rivet pins?

I have a Gran Sport that could use a replacement pin...

It belongs to Hank at the Helotes Bike shop. Another poster mentioned these may have been salvaged derailleurs, but not this one. Hank goes way back in the bike world and he indicated that is the way the earliest versions of SR came to him. If you click my sig and look in the Helotes folder, you will see the pics I took of the shop. WARNING! If you are a neat freak, these pics are not for you!!!

I have seen these derailleurs before as well. I always just thought of them as some cool rare nouvo record. Very cool, I like black components.

IDK I'm not a campy expert I was thinking maybe it was a nuovo record parrellogram (main body) with a SR Cage, Pivot bolts, etc. I'm probably wrong.

My first thought was as Lynn mentioned - an early SR. The pins look original.

I doubt that it's a fiddled-about and repainted NR - the black paint is done too well and has no over/underspray.
