2005 trek 1500. From what I gather, this is a "integrated headset"

Anyhow, I tightened it a little last night and rode 30 miles. On my climbs, the handlebars are so tight, it throws off my rythmn when Im climbing/Rocking the bike back and forth, I get dizzy.

Today, I loosened it to where It fell good. Now, when I ride it pops when I hit the front brakes. Its now too loose.

Cant get a happy medium.

Help and Thanks

If it's not damaged internally you should be able to back it off (loosen) it abit and it should be ok. I always check mine by putting on the front brake and rocking the bike forward and back to insure there is no play. Then I pick up the front and turn the bar to assure that it's turning freely.
