This past week my brakes have started draging and i can not get them to stop. I have tried everything i know of which is pull out the pads push the pistons back in put pads back in install and recenter caliper. Still dragging. Swap back pads for front ones ( It said to do it on hayes website). recenter caliper. Still dragging but insteed of just the front now the back is dragging too. Re-recenter caliper. Still dragging oh did i mention that i recentered the caliper. The pads shouldn't need to be replaced as they are only 10-11 monthes old and looked like they still had 50% left on them. So anyone have any ideas before i have to run it up to the LBS. By the way they are hayes hydro's. :confused:

11 mo is a long time for a pad. Have you tried bleeding the system and maybe change the fluid?
Also, there may be dirt between the piston and caliper preventing the piston from retracting all the way. Be sure it is clean.

If it isn't the dirt or any problem with the caliper, try slipping a business card on either side of the rotor when you are centering it. I find this is the best way to center the brake. If that doesn't work, or the cards don't fit in, it probably is dirt or a hydraulic problem. You may want to also look at the rotor to make sure it's true.

You might want to flush out the system. There could be dirt holding system pressure. Just a thought. :-)
