What type of crank do you have, you might need one of these: http://flatlandfuel.com/category.html?UCIDs=849786%7C889269
It should help you remove your sealed bearing profile premeium or ares 88 type cranks.(Please excuse the spelling)

my cranks came off my fit complete and they are like the profiles (tubular and no pinch bolt) but they tighten with an allen key bolt not a socket. I think i will have to get a crank remover

You may need a crank puller, if the cranks are similar to Profiles...
Take your bike to a bike shop, unless you have a crank puller, or a freind that knows what they are doing.

everyone i know with profile cranks uses a socket to get the sprocket bolt off.
