Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. In case you didn't hear the word, Team Schoe Moe, Chicagoamdream, and Cardstock won the Triple Assult 3-Man Alleycat on Saturday (great race!). Undoubtedly, the coolest of our prizes were these ballistic nylon u-lock holsters made by Flux (dude on the left), which are going to be ideal when the prospect of wearing a bag in 90-degree weather becomes an unpleasant possibility.

These are prototypes, but they'll apparently be available through Crisiswear sometime in the near future. They are heartily endorsed.

That is all.

I don't think I'm seeing them.

No, I got the pics.
The pocket things on your chest?

Yes. The u-lock goes in the thing under the armpit. The pockets are for cameras, cigarettes, phones, whatever. Plus, they make you look like Joe Friday.

That Flux guy's got some sweet glasses!

as far as the holster, I really do like the upper armor. very beyond thunderdome.

Whoa, I see.
Looks like something out of Mad Max.
I think I'll stick with my REload fanny pack.

i think they look pretty cool. dont know if i could rock'em for an entire summer...too hot. it does seem like you could look like a badass in the winter. you know, be all decked out in winter gear with the face mask then wear the holster. it'll look like being part of a track swat team.

Yeah, that was designed--apparently--in response to a cyclist who lacerated his shoulder going through a windshield. The exoskeleton-shoulder is detachable, but it has a flask pocket on it, so you can be sure cardstock will never be detaching his.

Does anyone know when they're re-launching the Crisiswear site? I've been waiting for it for months. I love his designs.

I think part of his temple-less glasses.

Reminds me of Judge Dredd:

It's funny, because the three of us decided to do this race at the last minute, and then we walk away with some very interesting hand-made prizes. The style is possibly a little Escape From New York for my taste, but these things are really well made. The pockets are lined with nylon Camo for extra vigalante points.

Those look pretty cool. In the middle of a hot summer I'd still get too hot in one I think, but then, I sweat like a pig (do pigs really sweat that much?)

Flux (the maker) was explaining how the inner lining is good for wicking sweat. compared to a bag, these would be very cool.

and no, pigs don't sweat (no glands), rather they wallow in mud.

Sounds cool.

I always wondered where the expression comes from. Maybe we should all wallow in mud before biking in the summer?
