I live in seattle, and after seeing how tight the SF crew is I was wondering if we have anything like that in Seattle cuz it looked like loads of fun. The other day I saw a bunch of ppl hanging out on a baseball diamond in the U-district and there were a good 15 fixies up against the fence... I WANT TO PLAY TOO!

Any organized get-togethers or groups of any kind?

it was the u-district, they were just hipsters, don't bother ;)

occasionally around quitting time when i'm riding to my girlfriend's office i see a bunch of fixies etc piled up on, i think, blanchard and 4th. messengers? gutter punks with bikes? when i stop at Top Pot in the morning sometimes i'll see an IRO or some bike i've never IDed and a cute chick sitting outside near it.
never really heard about anything organized, but then i don't look very hard. you might want to stop by Counterbalance up on Queen Anne and ask them. They're a cool bunch.

take the burke-gilman trail to the velodrome at marymore. I'm sure there are friends to be made there, and you'd be suprised by how few of them actualy live in the 'burbs.

I miss seattle.

Ya i've thought about doing that. every tuesday me and two other friends ride burke to redmond and back, make a day out of it. But I'm sure if there are big groups of ppl there, its usually a certain time and day?

Anyways thanks for the responses thus far, anyone else know of some organized stuff around here?

If you can wait for it - ride the Dead Baby in August. It is absolute tits and you'll make tons of friends at the afterparty.

There's another group that go out for Friday rides too... I'll see if I can find out something about them.

NM - I guess I was thinking about those Point 83 guys - they've become better organized since I last saw them.

So who's up for riding out to the velodrome some Friday for the races? Unfortunately this Friday is out for me and next Friday is Critical Mass, but if anyone's up for it post it up here. Maybe we can ride Mass for a minute and head out.

I think it's around 50 miles or so round trip if you take the trail out and back from downtown. I'm pretty much lost on the I-90 path once I hit Bellevue but I'm sure that would be faster/shorter if anyone here is actually familiar with the route. I'm not really up for getting lost on the eastside in the dark.

I went to the point 83 get together last thursday and it was dope! There were maybe 20+ riders and we went dumpster diving up past seatac and back. Cool people, good ride, lots of fun i recommend it highly. Didn't know they got together tuesdays too but i'll be attending from now on.

As for the velodrome, i can't this friday because i'm out of town, and like you said next friday is mass, but other than that i'm very down for a velodrome run so hit me up on here if you are making plans!
