No, I'm not talking about dressng your indoor trainer, although mine sports a 'fashionable' gray sweat guard.

I don't mean those days when your trainer becomes a clothes-drying-rack either.

So... what do you wear while riding on your indoor trainer?

I find that I am most comfortable in a coolmax t-shirt, cycling shorts, coolmax or lightweight wool socks, my road shoes and that all-important headband to keep sweat out of my eyes. I save my jerseys (all 4 of them) for actual road rides.

There are two options I could have chosen from. First I start off with riding shorts and a T-shirt or Tank top. After I've warmed up and begin to over heat, I usually shed the upper wear. I haven't gone naked yet... that may be cooler (pun intended)

Cycling shorts are a definate yes.
I don't like binding, chaffing seams so normal
shorts/underwear is out. I don't do commando
on the bike either.
T Shirts are the usual, I don't see any
reason for the coolmax, jerseys etc.
Cycling socks and road shoes.

I tried riding naked on the trainer once. After a few minutes my .... was getting VERY uncomfortable. :D

Now I ride with regular cycling shorts all the time. I need a rear pocket to hold my MP3 player so I wear an old jersey.
Music makes the workout less boring and I can change the music mix each time I ride for the type of "training session" I want.

Usually just shorts socks and shoes. I lay a small towell (sweat rag) across the bars to wipe my face and hands. Being indoors and not moving, results in a lack of evaporation and I tend to be dripping wet after my trainer days!

I plunck down in front of my TV w/ a mtn bike video. I love watching these guys drop 10-15 feet while I'm pedaling a steady cadence!

I purchased 6 pair of closeout cycling shorts from Nashbar a couple of years ago to use only on the trainer, I wear them and a tank top, a sweat band and a pair of old sweat socks. I also wear retired cycling shoes. I use this clothing only on the trainer and have 6 sets, one for each day, I take 1 day of rest each week, that's when I do my wash. I also have a trainer specific bike built from a retired road bike, I use a sweat net to protect the bike.

When I'm in polite society I wear full kit: shorts--though not my best shorts--and a sleeveless jersey. You have to love those wicky fabrics. Alone, I wear shorts and skip the jersey.

I also start w/ a T-shirt and finish topless. The removed shirt acts as a good towel. I may just go to the headband soon.

I have a few pair of well worn bib shorts I save for the trainer. Because I don't move around as much on the trainer, pressure relief can be a particular problem for me. If it's going to be a longer training session I'll wear a pair of padded briefs under the bibs. A regular cotton, sleeveless t-thirt and everyday cotton socks with my 'multi-purpose' cycling shoes complete the ensemble.

I'm a heavy sweater and use a large fan to keep things a little cooler.

Well, DUH! All we have to do is look at your signature, A.troll, to see what YOUR vote is!

Cycling shorts and a sports bra are what I wear on my trainer.

I noticed, I said I wear a cool max t shirt... Most would assume a person would wear cycling shorts below the Tee. or at least something....
what prompted this response- at night I do errands on my hybrid about town.. Notice some nights, I might put 5 miles on the bike from errands..
Anyway, I just wear jeans when doing errands.. So those who say they wear jean for maybe 10 mile rides- I don't see how.. Just did about 4 miles and without the tension of the shorts, i can feel the saddle lodging itself, where I want nothing lodged.. My friend Paula I ride with, will not wear cylcing shorts. Says feels like she has a load.. Might ride up to 40 miles. That must feel like hell.. So no way I would spend 40 minutes on a trainer without cycling shorts. Think it might cause Hemmeroids... Just seems a cyclists eventually falls off the sit bones, no matter what..

Usually start out in bike shorts and a sweatshirt. As soon as I warm up the sweat shirt comes off but keep it handy for when I finish I can get it back on to not get chilled. No specoial reason JUst got used to riding bare toped thats all
