*** I did my due diligence and used the search function first, BTW ***
So I've burdened my drivetrain with too many rainy, hilly, Seattle miles and infrequent maintenance. This has led to a stretched chain and badly worn teeth on my cassette and chainrings.
(I've learned my lesson, but feel free to bring on the beat down--I deserve it).
I have a Campy Veloce 9spd triple group (2000 stock on Bianchi).
I've replaced the cassette (Veloce 9spd) and chain (SRAM "high performance")
My chainrings still have life in them but I can feel it starting to suck the new, tighter chain.
On eBay I can get my hands on a new 2006 Veloce 10 speed double crankset cheaper than replacing the chainrings individually.
Do you see any problems with this? (10spd double crankset on 9spd triple group)
If so, is there anything I can do to make them play nice?
I'm just learning to wrench my own rigs and still have a limited toolset.
Thanks for any help!
