Foo - 'puter security issue for users of Yahoo! Mail software

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Ok, if you get an email via Yahoo! Mail and the subject line is

New Graphic Site

then don't open it. Symantec has a good writeup of it: writeup at Symantec's site (http://www.symantec.com/outbreak/yahoo_mail.html)

Bigger picture: update your antivirus software, because they probably aren't going to stick with one subject line to tip you off to avoid it. If you have old feeble antique antivirus software from years gone by, replace it with some current stuff. AntiVir (www.free-av.com) is a good one that's free for home users, if you need something on the cheap. Make sure to fully configure it (http://www.mechbgon.com/build/antivirus.html), don't just install it and then leave it in Nerf mode. :p

Also, tomorrow is Patch Tuesday for Microsoft. There will be some new security patches ready around 11AM Pacific Standard Time; you can get them at (surprise) the Microsoft Update site (http://update.microsoft.com).

Thanks for the heads up. I use Windows at work, so I gotta watch out there.

Joy...I really wish we could hire a few hitmen to deal with the tools that keep putting this crap out.

There's enough arsehattery in the computer world right now that we don't need a bunch of tards putting out trojans all over the net.
