Bike Clubs currently gather in major cities around the world for our holidays- Chunkathalon, Slaughterama, St. Chinos, etc... but we're trying to cultivate smaller, midwestern clubs and events. Pirates of the Kornfield is Klunker League Now's annual event. Last year we didn't even make it to the sweet corn fest and we slept in the yard. This year I hope to do a better job.

Anyone with a modified bike is welcome to participate all weekend or just for a day. This is a Bike Club event so consider your chopped bike your ticket to the event.

Featuring Rat Patrol Chicago, Ghetto-Fied? Rat Patrol Milwaukee? Third Circle Operations?

Ok everyone here are the dates of the 2nd annual Pirates of the korn field
Friday, July 14th
Saturday, July 15th
Sunday, July 16th

events that are planned currently:
Friday:
drinking, BBQ? nothing much else going on but the events start stupid early on Saturday.
Saturday:
Hangovers, followed by the 7:30AMifwecangetup crashing of the official tour de corn Bike ride (this is a road biker registered 50 some gawdawful miles event not race, we will be crashing the start of the race and then continuing on in our own festivities.)
the afternoon, have our own race? maybe through real cornfields instead of next to them? maybe some pixie jousting? perhaps some drinking? bonfires? who knows?
Sunday:
drinkin' with Lincoln Sunday we will be touring all of the numerous Lincoln sites Springfield has to offer and drinking a bottle of cheap bum wine at each one (just like real hobos)....If KLN does this alone we'll surely die of alcohol poisoning so come one come all!

there will be a place to crash and whatever food is around to be had for free as well as a large quantity of booze oh and this is Biggles' birthday party he is turning 24 on the 12th (no gifts required) guaranteed good time.

Man that sound slike a blast! If only I had a modified bike ready, were 20 years younger, and could still drink like a fish.

We will be happy to see you there. The Tour De Corn is a well attended and well supported ride. There are many mileage options. The short option uses a very nice paved trail that takes you from the park where this all starts...right into Springfield. About 16 mile round trip, No traffic! The other distances are 32 and 64 miles. We start early becouse it is usually HOT and HUMID! The (interurban) trail is nice and shady with a stop at the lake. I don't have any FUNNY bikes right now but I will see what I can come up with by then. Does a hot rod Raleigh Twenty count as a funny bike?
See ya There!!!:o :)
