Does anyone have suggestions on which downhill specific bike would be good for a beginner?

Give us some more info skinhead- like background, what kind of riding have you done? Also, what kind of money did you want to spend? It is fun, but not cheap.

The big question is how much do you have to spend?

1 - terrain
2 - current level
3 - money
4 - access to what kind of bikes (some lbs's don't carry everything)

I'm an XC rider... In my opinion, there are two types of DH rider. a) the incredibly coordinated/skillful. b) the terminally insane.

That's not a bad thing by any means though. Hehe.

How much money you got to spend? You looking at a hardtail or a full-susp?
