In about 15 minutes I'll be walking out the door and leaving for Downieville. I'll be camping up there and doing some mountain biking.
Downieville is this old mining town from the 1800's in the Sierras which has many great trails surrounding it.
My ride Saturday will include a 6 mile ride on the road right next to the Yuba river to the trailhead. This will be followed by an 8 mile dirt climb with over 4000' of elevation gain. We'll be over 8000' above sea level at the top so I'm sure there will be some snow patches still on the ground. Then comes the pay off, we'll be doing a 15 mile downhill with 99% being singletrack and losing about 5000' of elevation.
On Sunday I will be taking the shuttle to the top since my legs will probably be fried from Saturdays ride. The weather looks great and I can't wait to get up there.
Everybody have a great weekend...
