Mountain Biking - down to 3 bikes left... please help

OK so i rode a few bikes and cant narror down anymore past these three bikes.
2006 Rockhopper
2006 trek 6500
2006 GT avalanche 1.0

all with disc breaks. and are hardtails
they all felt pretty good, but as far as componets, fork and best bang for the buck what do you recommend?
im a clyde so please keep in mind.
oh yes and buget is up to 1,000.00

Toss up between the 6500 and rockhopper.

Unless the 1.0 fits really snug.

I realy REALY like the 6500!!! I just wish I had the cash when I got my 4500. not that the rockhoper isn't a great bike, the 6500's frame is super sweet. peopple love to bash Trek but the 6500 is one hell of a bike.

The 6500 is sweet but I find myself manualing, jumping and hopping better on my Rockhopper than on my friend's trek, so I say get the trek 6500 if you want an xc bike and get the rockhopper if you want a burly yet light bike that works really well for urban, freeride, trialsy stuff like that.

Trek's XC hardtails are hard as hell to bunny hop on. The bruisers on the other hand are really easy.

^ +1 i'd go for the bike that's more manouverable. if you're a beginner, its easier to learn on. if you're already into xc and experienced enough, the trek has less aggressive angles for that.

Rockhopper frame has a lifetime warranty.

One more vote for Rockhopper.

Of course you realize that what "we" think don't mean diddly.

You've got to test ride each and buy the one that fits the best.

well again ive rode all 3 and they feel very similar as far as riding them on the streets. i cant go off road so i wanted to see if any of you can tell me about componets which is best. also ive heard good things about gary fisher hoo koo e koo.
any input?

I've never been a fan of Gary Fisher and his bikes.

The Genesis geometry doesn't fit me AT ALL. However, I know a lot of people who love GF bikes.

All three bikes are pretty comparable. The differences between the three are like the different tires on a new car. Unless you are an enthusiast, it doesn't really make much difference if you have Uniroyals or Goodyears. They are on the car, keep them until they wear out and then buy what you prefer.

Same exact thing with these bikes.

If they all ride about the same, buy the one with your favorite color.

good point a2psyklnut. well funny thing is i ended up getting a hardtail 06 stumpjumper. pushed my budget a bit but the sales person ended up giving me a killer deal because i did some work for him in the past. i got a 06 stumjumper hardtail with dics for 1155.00 out the door with tax came to 1266.51
it felt sooo good riding a stump. that bike is smooth and light.

i have two specialized bikes, i have a big hit and a stump jumper. both treat me great and i definetly reccomend specialized, its a great brand!
