I am currently riding and happy with a Rans Stratus XP. I have done loaded touring on it. Excellent ride. Now I'm looking for something lighter and faster for recreation and club rides. I'm down to a V-Rex--which a friend kindly loaned me for a week--and research has led me to the Barcroft Virginia. The problem is that in order to test ride one I would have to go to the D.C. area. Also, Bill Cook is on a tour of his own until mid-August.

Is there someone out there anywhere near Albuquerque, NM that would let me ride their Virginia for an hour or so?

I can't buy a bike without riding it and I'd sure hate to pass on the Barcroft because of that. If worse comes to worse I will probably go to D.C. in August but that's mucho dollars. Thanks for any help. Comments from owners without offers to ride would also be appreciated.

Beautiful bikes. No shortage of them in the DC area. If you fly into Baltimore you can save a huge amount of money versus going into Dulles or National. Hope you can find something local, but visiting this area could also be cool!

Is Bill Cook posting his ride on crazyguy??

Thanks for the tip on Baltimore. I'll consider that if I fly to test ride at Barcroft. I don't know if Bill Cook will be posting on CGOAB. BTW, the Volae Century is still on my short list. I rode a Rans Force 5 the other day because it is available here and I wanted to try a 26/26. I had the same experience on a Bacchetta last year. The BB is just too high among other things with this design. How do you like your Volae? Their return policy makes it really tempting to "order one up" and give it a two week try.
