Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - OT - Heading out to Pennsylvania for a business trip. What to do??

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Hi there! This thread is offtopic, but I do own a SS conversion, and I spend most of my time lurking in this forum, so I figured why not...
I am going to Pennsylvania from 6/25-6/28 for a business trip and don't want to spend whatever free time I have couped up in a hotel room. I am going to be in the city of Exton, and I have no idea where that is in relation to anything. If any locals can offer suggestions as to what/where/who to do while I am there I would appreciate it. Any bike related spots that I have to visit, that should not be missed would be cool. I was actually searching craigslist for a cheapy bike I could ride around on while there, just for fun, but prices seem really high.
Thanks in advance.

I used to live close to Exton for a while.
Exton is basically a HUGE traffic jam. It is really just an intersection
of roads going to other places. There is a mall and a Barnes and Noble
at 30 and 100 if you need to hang out.
Riding in Exton I would consider too undesirable but just down the road,
westernly, or toward Downingtown you can find some roads that will suffice
or ask one of the slackjawed, toofless locals where the Struble Trail is.
Southernly toward West Chester has some OK roads but the traffic is soooo dense
every where you have to be very careful (duh !!) On the good side.....Bike stores '0 plenty !
Lots of alcohol serving establishments if you feel the need to get loaded.
If you do roll up into West Chester (about 6 miles), saturday or Sunday
morning a lot of the yup local roadies get together to drink designer beer and
play can-you-top-this at the Iron Hill on Gay and High (just like my friends !!)
Easternly, more great bike stores (Beans on 30 in Paoli) and Philly not to much
of a (bus)ride, either.

IRO's in Middleburg, PA. Dunno if that's close by, but if you're in the market...

so it sounds like riding is out. I will just go check out some of the local shops.
I like IRO's products, i will have to see where they are in relation to where i'm at. Thanks for the idea.

Just jump on a Septa train and come into Philly. Tons of good riding, drinking, and company to be had round these parts.
