I am geting a new saddle and want to know which one is the best. Also If you have one of the saddles I am looking at then please tell me what you think of it.
If you're a weight weenie or light/ non-sensitive than get the aspide
If you like the racer look get the Genuine Gel
If you need comfort than get the ProLink
Saddles are so personal, you just have to try one and see if it works for you

I have a prolink gel - It is now off my bike sitting in the closet. Though it felt good on the sit bones, it has (and I checked to make sure mine was not defective) a slight rise at the gel point. This causes my "lower extremities" to loose circulation. I adjusted the tilt up and down to no avail.
I just got a Max Flite Trans Am - On my quick 20 miler it was great, no numbness, though it is not quite as "soft" on the sit bones.
Matt...in search of the perfect saddle.
Your asking about comfortable saddles, but you aren't even considering a Brooks?????

I've done a lot of high mileage on the Octavia Gel & its OK . . . .
but then I changed to Brooks!
Hooray!
Brooks leather saddles feel completely different because they're hard, ie, not padded, but YOUR Brooks saddle changes to fit YOU.
So tho its hard, its absolutely comfortable.

I have a Selle Italia Oktavia Gel and it is going off very very soon!!! (numbness in lower extremities)!!!
With a bit of luck I will be putting on a brand new Fizik Aliante on Sunday!! :D
Brooks swift ti, and Brooks B-17 on the commuter. Brooks, Brooks, Brooks
Brooks swift ti, and Brooks B-17

No 2 butts are exactly the same shape, trust me :)
I used to use a San Marco Rolls, which was used by lots of pro riders, but I never got on with it. I found a 2nd hand really hard Specialized saddle which fitted me well, and a Brooks B17 which I use now.

Go sit on some new bikes and see how they feel. Also ask the lbs guy what everybody is buying.
I have the San Marco Aspide, I love it it is the most comfortable saddle I have used so far. It is light weight and not much padding, but the shape and everything is just perfect atleast for me.
Where is "other" in the poll?
I'm very happy with my Terry Fly Ti. Enough said.

Like everyone else said, it's a personal choice and what works for some may not work for others. That said, I ride a Fizik Pave' and like it.
Some general thoughts... flattish saddles only allow you one position, more rounded ones allow you to move forward/back more. I have a Brooks B-17 that I like for easy touring-type riding, but the nose is wide for me, and when I'm riding fast it causes chafing in tight places, which is very slow to heal.
On an aesthetic and functional note, I really dislike the idea of saddles with embroidered logos, etc. It just seems like a really bad place to have abrasives of any kind. Never tried one, and definitely wouldn't buy one.
Happy hunting.

on my commuter i have an oktavia which is nice, i can ride it for a few miles without proper cycling shorts no problems, but on my racer i prefer the saddle it came iwth which is fizik pave. Again as everyone has said it's all about which fits *you* best. Try 'em, find one you like it, buy it, and if you don't get on well with it then change. Contact points are always the most important and the saddle probably the most important of those.

Selle Italia Flite Ti(without the gel) would be my pick.
I vote for what I've been enjoying... no hot or numb spots since 8/23/02
selle italia flite ti gel
The original White leather Lemond Saddle (Selle San Marco?)with embroidery that came on my bike is one of the best saddles I ever had, although many people complain about them. However is it a little hard in the early season. Aside from that I had a Brooks Professional for about ten years, it was great too.

Ive just bought a Selle SLR Titanium.Only 135g, very light.Bit more expensive than the flite but at only 135g its worth it. There is also a Carbon SLR at a ridiculous weigth of 95g:eek:

I think with 3 out out of the 4 saddles at EXACTLY 30%, somebody's playing games!!:D
I just bought a Brooks b17 champion special in British racing green -- now that's a pretty saddle -- if it would only warm up so I could ride

I'm with Garbear, I run the same saddle as he does on my 3 road bikes, best saddle I've had so far, and I've been running that saddle for 3 years now.

The Selle San Marco Aspide for me is just what the advertising says, very minimal but all day comfortable. There is a new design out on the road saddle which I'm curious about, and I also want to try out the Triathgel Aspide as it is supposed to increase the performance characteristics of a triathlon saddle. Saddles are something you just have to keep trying till you find the one thats right. I've spent a lot of dough on saddles but I'm very pleased with the Aspide.

OK, I'll be the oddball. I have and enjoy 2 Koobi Enduro EUs. One on the road bike (which fit my tush way better than the Specialized BG Pro) and one on my daily commuter, because of the way I felt on my road bike. :)
Switched from a Specialized Body Geometry to a Terry Fly Ti Gel. 300 or so miles and have no regrets. Great saddle but pricy.:D

I see that my butt isn't the only one that fits well on the Prolink Gel. Most comfortable saddle I've ridden, to date. Still not good enough. But at least I can do a century and still walk easily. I most recently tried the Prolink Trans Am and it was one of the worst for me. So back to the Prolink Gel. Besides, I can get ii in color that matches my ride. Very flash.

I have now been running a Koobi PRS gold on the hard tail for a couple of months, and it has been awesome!:D I've done more than a few 40 and 50 km's XC rides with no numbness, now if I could just find a pair of grips that are as good.
Personally, I really like Koobi Saddles. The AU Enduro and Bronze currently don my bikes...
