Well, the time has finally come. I'm off tomorrow for my first cross-country tour. I'm riding the Adventure Cycling Anniversary Cross Country tour, starting in Seattle and ending in Washington DC.
I fly out to Seattle tomorrow. It'll be evening when I arrive, so I'll pick up my bike from the REI store on Tuesday morning. I plan to ride around on some of Seattle's famous bike paths on tuesday, then meet up with the group on Wednesday. We're invited to one of ACA's anniversary parties on Wednesday night, then start riding on Thursday am.
The ride is fully supported, with most meals provided. The average daily mileage is 83. Riding days will be 40, with 8 rest days. We arrive at the Lincoln Memorial on August 8.
