General Cycling Discussion - I take the ACT

Well guys, I go take the ACT this morning. I am trying to get rid of the butterflies in my stomach. I went on a 30 min ride just after I woke up to get my blood flowing. I was a great ride. It was foggy, and the sun filtering through it cast a pink light, beautiful.
By the by, I got my lycra shorts this week too, I love'm!!!

Good luck on the ACT, too. Your quick little ride was a great way to start the day and get you in a good mind set!

Just got back from a ride myself and read about your test; lit a stick of high-quality Japanese incense for you. (Hey, I'm not Buddhist for nothing!) :)

Best of luck on the ACT! I took a ride early this morning, too.....so foggy I got my arse wet! Take a ride after the exams to clear your head!

Thanks guys, I think I did pretty good on the test.Unfortunetly, I possibly have a sinus infection, and because I had to lean my head forward to look down at the test,snot was run out my nose like niagra falls. My shirts sleeves were gross by the end, and the test it self had some drippings on it. I have to say it was a miserable 4 hours.Even worse, my fellow test takers were mostly girls!!!!! What a spectacle I probably made.
I found 5 bucks in the pants I wore to the test, and after the test I had to decide between going to the gas station and spening my money there, or going to the bike shop and finding something for 5 bucks there. This of course, was a no brainer, and now I have a cool Specialized bottle rack to go along side my cool Giant bottle rack on my Univega!!!!!

Did you concentrate while taking the ACT the same way that you have to concentrate while weaving in and out of high speed traffic? If you can utilize your ability to concentrate for 4 (or more) years of college, you'll do really well.

Baker - I'll have you know that I am working on your Latin motto. Don't give it away - these things take days.

I made up an unofficial motto for my company: Quidquam possumus facere (We can do anything). It's a bold statement, but so far, no one called me on it yet.

Ask JonR for the meaning of my motto. He might still remember some Latin. :)

The best I can come up with is "Do not shrink from devoting your time to Christ."

I almost took Latin this year, but it just wasn't in the cards. Fiddlesticks. Maybe senior year.

Latin is easy. The vocabulary is smaller than most modern languages because they stopped inventing new words more than a thousand years ago. The problem is finding someone to talk to.

I read a couple of years ago about a convention of Latin enthusiasts (and scholars, I think). At least one attendee was shocked upon arriving to find that most of the conversation was in Latin!
