Today was the Capital City Crit here in town. This will be fourth crit i have ever raced. My bone head move of the day.... i was sitting in at second place just along for the ride, and the guy in front would not so i thought take the fastest corner fast enough so I held my line and after the corner I nailed it all the way up the front straight to the first hard left. Kind of a long climb. Any way you know the rest of the deal used up my stuff trying to look tough. The pack caught me and I hung on for a lap then off the back for another valient solo effort. Why must I act so dumb. I know for a fact i could of finished with the guys if I would of just been pacient. but live an learn. Does any body else find it hard to wait it out?

Timing attacks is all about experience, strength and a whole lotta luck...

Today just wasn't your day :) There will always be next weekend.

You need discipline! We have an 63 year old Flemish guy who graces us with his Presence. Grandpa Big Ring has a saying, everyone starts with 100 pennies, don't spend yours unless the other guys have to spend some to. Sounds like you were out front with pennies flying out of your pocket, while no one else spent any of thiers.

But Hey, I do that stuff on ocassion too

great analogy, Smoothie.

It's a bike race. The winner is the guy who crosses the line first. Not the guy who does the most work. Not the guy who goes the fastest.
Extremely frustrating . . . until you learn how to use it to your advantage.

Never burn your matches, there are only so many in the pack. Don't spend your pennies cause you've only got a dollar. The analogies are endless, but the point is the same: raod racing is all about being as lazy as you can get away with until the finish.
