Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - What'd you do all day...

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

...tossed the fixie, put on a helmet, lots of spandex, a stupid smile, and went for a pleseant ride on a hybrid bike with big knobby tires, full suspension, and a shock-absorbing seat post.
Cried.

nothing much different than usual. worked, rode all afternoon, ate a bunch at home and played around on the internet...which mostly invovled hitting refresh a lot. and the "stumble" button.

26 deliveries, 1 triple rush, 3 rushes, 4 oversized, waited a total of 45 minutes paid, and probably rode around 60-70 miles. Drank some too.

hey, thanks. i just meant , you know. .... i've been a fan for years but one day it all comes together: the songs you've heard for years, over and over again...they just click. or some obscure lyric jumps out at you and makes TOTAL ****ING SENSE TO YOU. right at that moment. of course riding very fast at the same time maybe helps...

yeah - i have been on a rediscovery kick lately of sludgey proto-metal. Sabbath took the cake. Their first four albums contain some of the best riffs and sounds of any music from that era.
Incredible.
"The Wizard" alone, damn. I first heard that in its entirety in CO while riding roads to nowhere and drinking a few beers at my old job. It still remains as great now as it did then.

still early and having coffee. it's gorgeous in s.f. it's a recovery day for me, but yesterday:
on the geared, started in bernal heights, up the central peaks, out to the sunset, up to golden gate park, thru the haight, deboce triangle then back home thru the mission to get ready for work.
then fixed commute to job downtown. 8 hrs. of hustlin'. then back to the neighborhood, took a different street and found a bike shop (heavy metal) and another muddy waters coffee joint sitting right behind the nearby safeway (29th/tiffany).
yeah!

I'm new here (kinda, I'm an expert lurker), but I'll bite:
Rode three miles to school and sat through 2 very boring summer classes. Then, road "downtown" and got some coffee, and a CD for the rekkid store. Then road back home, after picking up some sushi for lunchin and started lurking here..
then I posted somfin.. it's 98º outside is all I really learned today, frickin' college.

I went to west town bike collective and learned bottom bracket overhaul (thanks Kisha!). Rode around aimlessly all day, looked for jobs, starting drinking at 9:30pm, chain smoked. All the usual ****.
I can quit anytime I want to, okay man.

Stripped a Motebecane Metropolis 3spd, that I bought at a cop auction for $5, and converted it to SS.
I bought the bike for the full-cover chainguard.
Now that it's done I'll start looking for another bike....16 and counting...

photoshop is the easiest graphics program ever. what are you stuck on?
I don't want to hijack the thread, but I've been trying to do some of the tutorials on the Computer Arts Projects website and I get fluster when things don't turn out right
