Found this inside my BB.

It came out of my Peloton, which is interesting because it came sashae/japan. Not a dig at sasha at all, he told me he never opened the BB when I bought the frame from him. I noticed it the first time I packed it, but forgot to take a picture until now.
So who were they trying to fool here?

any reason to believe the bb spindle is not in fact njs? many suginos are.
EDIT: 75 is the only model that i know to be njs, but if the spindle was swapped out who knows.
EDIT2: i know absolutely **** about njs, as well as most of the other stuff i talk about.

well, since most of us know absolutely **** about NJS standards and how they are modified and enforced, PM "Tomity" and see if he can shed any light on your curiousity. He is, after all, a Keirin racer and would know more than a bunch of baka gaijin.
This one looks etched if ever anything was etched.
Perhaps it's an older, more rudimentary logo? Is it etched or just drawn? Hard to tell from the photo.

yeah, it's hard to get a good shot of it. It is etched in.

finally a good use for Phillies box scores
Out of curiosity, why do you say "fake"? Interesting, either way you slice it. I don't remember if the cups were stamped or not, but it wasn't Sugino 75, right?

It just seems sketch, the way it is etched makes me think it's fake. But as others have pointed out, it might be legit.
Its not a 75 and the cups aren't stamped.
Yeah, I honestly have no idea. I hope it spins okay anyway ;)

seems like a person would have to go through a lot of trouble to counterfeit a bottom bracket spindle.
"HA HA!!! THE JOKE IS ON YOU!!! YOU THOUGHT THIS WAS AN NJS SPINDLE, BUT IT IS NOT!!! CLEVER, I AM!!!! OOOH YOU SHOULD'VE SEEN YOUR FACE!! I SPENT HOURS ETCHING THAT FAKE LOGO BUT IS WAS ALL WORTH IT!!!"
seriously. does it spin? yes? then put it back together and ride it for crying out loud.

Maybe it was counterfited for use in an area where njs-itude is actually required.. like for keirin racing. That might be (somehow) worth the effort expended.
