Right now, I mostly use the standard Finish-Line teflon, and it works decent at not picking up to much dirt. My Dad thinks it's funny that I spend five bucks for 4 oz of lube and keeps telling me to use Chain and Cable lube (he doesn't bike but finds tons of uses for it around the house and farm). Has anybody tried this and how did it work out?
Also, how about aerosol engine degreaser or carbuerator cleaner for the cleaning the hard to get to places of the derailuer when not dismounting the chain?
By the way, this is for XC riding in western Washington (that means plenty of rain :p )

Carb cleaner is nasty stuff, and engine degreaser is essentially kerosene.
