Your 'cheap' may be someone else's 'expensive'. What's your price range? How old are you? What's your height and weight?

This info helps...
But most likley, if you have a high price range, get either a:
Fit Flow complete
or
DK Four Pack
Possibly the two best completes on the market.

Building a bike will put you into the $600 range.
The cheapest it the Poverty buck99, it's on www.danscomp.com for $199, but it's far from great. Also, whats your definition of trails?

Dirtjumps put a sh!ttonne of force on the frame.
There is no right bike for you in that price range. Look for used.
yeah that was the next thing i was going to suggest... i found a few on ebay... are "specialized" bike a good brand..

they're okay to good depending on the model.

Yeah, ebay is your best bet, and it depends on what specialized model. Their "fuse" models are decent.
i think it was "vegas" somthin

Ahh, The frame isn't full cromoly, so I'd stay away from it. But it's alright if thats all you can find that will fit your budget.
yeah... i'll look around more.. does anyone have any suggestions to what bike i should look for...
FuzzyRyder

you don't really have much of a choice with ebay, just look form something with a full cromoly frame and a 3 piece crank.

The Buck 99 will last dirt jumping, along with lots of other riding, until he can get new parts and upgrade it...

im asuming your going on mude's experinces w/ the frame. If that is the case, dont. He doesnt put it under real stress (i've seen his riding)
if theres a lot of spelling errors its beacause im beyond tired.

Correct. And I have no room for all my bikes. And I have a large house with a large yard and way too much to do now.

That sucks, you should just keep it until you have time to use it even if that is a long time.

I do believe the thread-starter mentioned that he only has 160 dollars to budget for a bike. Doesn't a Poverty Buck 99 retail for, um.. 199.00 or so?
Apparently there is more than one idiot on the boards.. (j/k KB)

Yes but adding $30 isnt much for such a big and important part of your bike (since its the whole thing...)

I saw someone riding a 16" bike at the park today. He was pretty good on it, but I've seen the same stuff done on 20's plenty of times and for the most part 26's too.
