Yes, we need moisture and cold terribly, but I can't resist the weather. Yes, of course I wore shorts. No, I don't feel guilty. :thumbup: :lol:

was about 65 degrees here today, and it was the first day of the year that I wore shorts and a short sleeve jersey while riding :D

I was able to get in 18 miles today, temperature was a comfortable 45 F. One of the local ski resorts had to close a few runs this weekend, due to the lack of snow and warm temps.

I got in two great workouts today.On the end of a snow shovel! :cry:
If snowshoveling becomes an olympic sport, I'm ready.

It's going down to 0-f tonight, but what can I expect...living in Ohio in January?

I got in a couple hours with teammates up in Greeley today. We did repeats up our infamous local climb, The Mad Russian. We suffered like dogs. And loved every minute of it! :)

Then I ate way too much as I watched the StuporBowl. All the work probably went for naught.

Okay - where is the Mad Russian?? Greeley seems pretty flat to me.

I wish I could say that warm air is headed our way, but by looking at the weather map, we seem to be getting all our weather from due north.

Yesterday it hit a balmy 32 F here in Pa. The roads were clear enough to ride my road bike (instead of my dirt bike with the studded tires). It was great to be able to go so easily - did 26 miles. It was snowing the whole time but the snow melted as soon as it hit the road. Great ride - even if it was not 65 :)

I had to give the bike a warm bath when I got home. Lots of dirty slush and salt on us both.

Well, I'm fairly new to the area so my directions are shakey but... heading north out of the little burg of Milliken is this climb that runs next the The Mad Russian Golf Course and housing development, thus, "The Mad Russian." It is about a mile long and, if pushed, can cause some suffering. Good for intervals though.

You're right though, Greeley is flat when compared to the surrounding areas. Sometimes I go to Fort Collins (Horsetooth area) or ride from Loveland to Estes Park to really get in some work.

When I first moved here in August I drove down and did a part of the Mt. Evans ascent. Bad idea. Wasn't ready for the climbing OR the altitude (coming from Michigan).

I had a great Sunday ride. Actually went out twice and did a third quick ride to check out the the new tire with different tread. Got in about 15 miles altogether. Do not laugh at the low miles. This took about 1 hour and 45 minutes due to the nice temperatures in low 30's f and the 6 inches of snow. This was a real tough ride but oh was it fun. Crashed coming down the driveway when I hit a snow ridge from the car tires and slid about 3 feet in the snow laughing all the way. Felt like a kid again.
