ok, i'm demoing a pair of deep dish wheels that have valve extenders and i have to ask this moronic question, hoping someone out there will help me out and not make fun of me too much. ;)

HOW THE HELL DO YOU INFLATE THE TIRE???? i have a high-end specialized pump and i can't seem to inflate the tires. there does not appear to be any sort of cap or screw on the extender. do i just put on the pump and start pumping as usual? should it be more difficult to inflate than inflating a tire without the extender? i briefly tried that and stopped because i wasn't sure i was inflating properly.

thanks so much for any help.

You leave the presta valve cap open on the tube. Then you screw on the valve extender. This is the way it stays all the time. You should be able to pump up the tires like that. It works.

The alternative to this (once you've bought them) is to buy some super long valve tubes made for these types of tires, like these:

80mm valve, which is about 3 1/3 inches long!

apply a drop of thin oil to the valve stem/core when the tube is deflated. It makes life a whole lot easier when it comes time to pump up. Also, before pumpin up, take a paper clip and poke the presta head once to spit some air out. It will break any seal that may have formed and might give you a slightly more accureate psi reading.
